Your dog can be poisoned by a variety of things including types of vegetables, chemicals like pesticides an even table scraps may contain toxic substances. Raw onions, cabbage and chocolate are a few. Other substances are categorically hazardous for your pet with serious repercussions on its health. Did you know a bar of dark chocolate can kill a small dog? Unfortunately, chocolate contains theobromine, a substance that is highly toxic to carnivores. So don't be tempted to treat your pet with chocolate no matter what.
Here is a list of foodstuffs that are potentially harmful to your pets (depending on the quantity):

- Avocado
- Cherry pits
- Chocolate
- Chocolate's toxic element is called theobromin
