According to the most recent statistics released by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animal (OFA) in December 2005, Bernese Mountain Dogs ranked 50 rd among 142 breeds covered by the study (http://www.offa.org/hipstatbreed.html). Saint Bernard, Newfoundland, Golden Retriever and German Shepard ranked highest. It's important to evaluate these findings carefully given their subjectivity.
