| Get in touch with us by phone: (418) 650-0327, or by e-mail: Delassie@oricom.ca to make an appointment to visit the kennel. We do not let any of our puppies go without first meeting their new owners.
First meeting; getting acquainted
The purpose of the first meeting is to find a puppy with the right temperament for your lifestyle. A dog with a strong personality, for example, might not be the best choice for a family getting a dog for the first time. Depending on the amount of exercise you expect to give your new dog, we will either suggest a dog with a livelier temperament or even perhaps to direct you to a breed that is better adapted to your expectations and needs. This meeting is an important one for us. In the same way that you want the best dog for your family, we want the best family for our puppies. If you take a look at the hundreds of excuses people use when they want to get rid of their pet, you will understand why we go to considerable lengths to avoid these sorts of situations with our pups.
Finally, we discuss the terms and conditions of the sales contract. If everything is to your satisfaction, your name is put on a waiting list. The second meeting is when you come to fetch your puppy.
Reserving a puppy
You can reserve a puppy at the first meeting or afterwards with a $200 cash deposit. Your name is put on a waiting list and we can tell you where you are on the list. We guarantee that a puppy corresponding to the temperament and gender you requested will be available within a year following the reservation date.
When the puppies are born
As soon as the pups are born, we contact the new adopters on the waiting list to tell them that their puppy has arrived and when they can expect to take their new puppy home. If you wish to postpone the adoption, your name will be put on the next list, again according to the reservation dates.
During the eight weeks following the puppy's birth, we put a lot of effort into socializing the puppies correctly, monitoring their development and their temperament.

The day you take your puppy home
Half the day is spent giving the new owners information, one at a time, following the order on the waiting list. This is when we recommend a puppy based on temperament and your expectations. Obviously, you have the final say on which puppy you want to take home. You also make the final payment and sign a contract of non-reproduction (if applicable).
We are available to answer your questions and reassure you if you have any concerns. It is actually a lot of fun to meet the other new puppy owners. Whenever possible, we like to invite our customers to bring a picnic lunch and start enjoying their little rascal on the spot.
Information meeting
Once all the dogs have been matched up with their new families, we ask their new owners to attend a 2 to 3 hour information meeting to discuss some of the most important aspects of life with your new pet. Topics include: dominance, the art of communicating with your dog, proper crate use and, especially, how to housebreak your dog in a few short days. We will give you the registration papers for the pup's parents and a health booklet. You will receive your puppy's registration certificate when the puppy is spayed or neutered.
After you take your puppy home
Experience has shown us that when the new puppy owners leave, they have enough information to cope with most situations that may come up. If you have any questions, we will be more than happy to answer them.
