The Maison Delassie is a selective Bernese Mountain dog breeder located in St-Isidore-de-Beauce. It is
approximately 20 minutes away from beautiful Quebec City. «Selective» means that we determine WHEN and with
WHOM our dogs will mate. The « WHEN» is determined based on the number of pups requested. We wait until the
demand warrants having a litter as we are not a puppy mill.
The "WHO" is the most difficult part. It is where all the skills and experience of the breeder comes into play.
Our dogs are recognized for quality: the soundness of their temperament, as well as their excellent health.
To do so, we CONTINUALLY strive to improve both. This requires us to KNOW the temperament and health of each
line, whether it is the parents, grand-parents, and even great-grand-parents of the pups we breed.
Knowing our Stock means:
- Running several medical tests to ensure that our dogs do not carry genetic defects;
- Keeping in contact with our clients to monitor the pups they have taken. Do they have health issues? How is their temperament ? Are they gentle ? Aggressive ? Skiddish ? ;
- Studying the newest veterinary researches and newest trends in canine education;
- Understanding what are clients need and look for in a dog.
re ce qu'il recherche dans un chien, et quels sont leur besoins.
Lastly, "selective" means that we do not sell our dogs to just anyone. Just as people want the best dog for
their family, we want the best families for our dogs!

Laurent Gosselin
Active in the canine world for almost 22 years, he has been fascinated by the exceptional characteristics and
docile temper of the Collie. So much so that he began breeding them in 1985. Respecting all standards of the
breed and conformation requirements, he strives to reproduce companions who will be known for the soundness and
excellence of their temperament. It is for the same reasons that he was chosen to add the Bernese to his kennel
in 1994. Knowledgeable in ethology (canine behaviour), he directs an obedience school, as well as offers private
consultations to help dog owners gently correct the behavioral issues of their protégé. |

Sylvie Bérubé
She is the specialist of obedience trials. Also an adept of gentle methods, she has quickly
abandoned training techniques requiring the use of chokers and prong collars and has developed her own method.
Her research and participation in numerous seminars on clicker training, Tellington Touch, as well as Vallard
technique, has allowed her to create her own based mainly on positive reinforcement. She was earned several
Canadian titles in obedience not only with her Collies and Berners, but also with German Sheppards and Great
Pyrenees. Her training methods are increasingly being recognized and used by canine professionals of the
province.. |
